2026 Good Times In Florida
Song of the tournament: Danza Kuduro - Don Omar, Lucenzo
AirBnB: En Suites for all
Games: Codenames (Pictures) and Preferences (Not Aspirations)
Record: 5/3 but declared spirit winners by the actual winners
Cases of high noons: Lost count
Watched: Super Bowl halftime show, First 2 episodes of Heated Rivalry
This was the first year of this tournament so it was fairly small (which IMO is a good thing). The location was walkable from our massive 4 story BnB. Parking was free. Bathrooms were close and hot, delicious French fries were available. Tournament parties basically in our side yard. The sand was super soft (mostly) and very fine, giving corn starch / talc vibes. Oddly, this particular weekend, it was warmer in Austin than it was in Florida but the skies were totally clear. We got a little cold towards the end of day 1, mostly due to the wind, but that’s nothing that a 104 degree [dangerously] hot tub can’t fix. Day 2, the weather was perfect and the vibes were high.
Memories:
Sunset rooftop dance party + neighbor + baby Maggie
Sending search party out for Ninja (she was found and fine)
Getting carded at Siesta Mart
Screaming hot hot tub and dude water slides
T2 on tables
Maggie’s chill and smiley vibes
Espresso martinis
Van cram
Doug’s game called Preferences was such a hoot. Marshall almost died laughing. We learned who really knows who.
Scored our first (maybe) DM 2-pointer!
Chef Matthew kept the team fed
Luis thinking he was concussed when he was just drunk
Winning against all odds vs Austin semi-pro team
DM becoming Skip’s promotional models with balloon humping game
The seagulls (and the seagull game)
Shotguns
Danny crushing Mosho’s foot using “new technique”
